A consent banner that actually blocks trackers, with Google Consent Mode v2 and an
exportable consent log.

== Description ==

Adds the CMPStack consent banner to your WordPress site. Paste your Site ID and the
plugin does the rest.

* Google Consent Mode v2, set denied-first before any Google tag fires
* Holds third-party scripts back until the visitor allows their category
* 26 EU/EEA languages, matched to the page
* A consent log you can export as CSV or PDF for an audit

The banner itself is configured in your CMPStack panel, not here — this plugin's job
is to put the tag on every page, ahead of the plugins whose scripts it needs to block.

== External service ==

This plugin loads the consent banner script from CMPStack's CDN
(https://cdn.cmpstack.io) on every page, and the banner sends your visitors' consent
decisions to the CMPStack API (https://api.cmpstack.io, or the API URL you set). The
decision record contains the categories chosen, a hashed IP, the country, and the
banner language — no personal data beyond that. CMPStack's terms and privacy policy
apply: https://cmpstack.io/privacy-policy

== Installation ==

1. Download the plugin zip from Integrations → WordPress in your CMPStack panel.
2. In WordPress: Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the zip, install, activate.
3. Settings → CMPStack.
4. Paste the Site ID from Domains → Install tag in your CMPStack panel.

The plugin is distributed from your CMPStack panel rather than the WordPress.org
directory. The banner itself updates from the CDN, so the plugin rarely needs a new
version; when it does, the panel says so and the update is the same upload.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Does it block my other plugins' trackers? =

It holds back scripts loaded after the banner starts, which is how most analytics and
pixel plugins load theirs. A script hard-coded into your theme's header may already
have run before the banner loads — for those, mark the tag in your theme with
`type="text/plain" data-cmp="marketing"`.

= Do I need a CMPStack account? =

Yes. The banner is configured and the consent log stored in your CMPStack panel.
